DESMI NSLH pump for the transmission system
AffaldVarme Aarhus handling waste and district heating in Aarhus.
AffaldVarme Aarhus plays an important part in relation to the overall environmental targets for the local authorities in Aarhus. Developing the district heating supply system and optimizing the waste systems will ensure that the authorities in Aarhus can live up to their targets within energy, environment, and climate.
Since 1980, AffaldVarme Aarhus and consumer-owned CHP plants have co-operated on covering 90% of the heat requirements with power planted heat before 1995. The target has been reached, and 285,000 of the 300,000 citizens in the area are provided with district heating.
With power heat supply the consumers avoid big fluctuations in the price for heating as a result of fluctuations in the fuel prices.
AffaldVarme Aarhus is responsible for the transmission system including running and maintenance of the main transmission system with boiler plant, heat exchanger, pumping station etc.
"We are pleased that the DESMI NSLH pump helps securing the district heating supply in Aarhus, and based on a saving of not less than 224,000 kWh per year compared to the previously used pump, the enthusiasm is big and the investment in the pump quickly breaks even."
