DESMI from 1834 till now...

1834-1900

Founder Henning Smith started an iron foundry in Aalborg in 1834.

Stoves, kitchen ranges, windows etc. were the first things to be manufactured by Henning Smith.

1900-1970

Church Bells were manufactured from 1900 to 1970. Most of them are still in use today.

1977 The company moved to new modern facilities in Nørresundby. This is where the Head office is still situated.

1970's DESMI started to develop and manufacture equipment for combating oil spills at sea. Today this activity is managed by the subsidiary DESMI Ro-Clean A/S.

1970-2000

1978 DESMI Ltd. was established in the UK.

1993/94 The German subsidiary was acquired when DESMI took over the pump division of Thrige Titan A/S, Denmark. The subsidiary later changed its name to DESMI GmbH Rotan Pumpengesellschaft.

1994 DESMI Inc. and ROTAN Inc. merged into one company, the American subsidiary DESMI Inc.

From 2000-2005

2002 DESMI bought K&R Pompen B.V. and founded the Dutch subsidiary DESMI K&R Pompen B.V.

2002 DESMI established a subsidiary in Norway, DESMI Norge AS.

2005 DESMI set up production in China by formation of the subsidiary DESMI Pumping Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.

2006-2010

2007 The parent company Sales & Service division was spun off as a separate subsidiary, DESMI Danmark A/S.

2008 Applied Fabric Technologies became a subsidiary of DESMI Ro-Clean.

2009 DESMI Ro-Clean established the subsidiary DESMI Ro-Clean LATINO-AMERICA S.A. in Quito, Ecuador.

2009 DESMI set up representative offices in Korea and Singapore in 2009.

In a strategic partnership with A. P. Moller – Maersk and Skjølstrup & Grønborg (UltraAqua) DESMI established DESMI Ocean Guard A/S in 2009.

2009 DESMI celebrated its 175th anniversary.

2009/2010 DESMI establised representative offices in Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou & Chongqing in China

2010-2015

2010 DESMI established representative office in Busan, Korea, France & Abu Dhabi

2011 DESMI established representative office in Dubai

2011 DESMI established foundry in Xuancheng, China

2012/2013 DESMI established representative office in India and Tanzania

2015 DESMI established representative office in Poland

2016-2021

2016 DESMI established a sales office in Sweden

2018 DESMI opened an office in Lima, Peru

2018 DESMI established a representative office in Canada

2019 DESMI strengthens presence in Greece with a new representative office

2021 DESMI established a sales office in Italy

2022 -

2022 DESMI establish new office in Nigeria

2022 One Equity Partner (OEP) main stakeholder in DESMI with 75%

2022 Humphrey Lau new CEO in DESMI
